Qualification: Graduation (B.Sc./B.Tech) in Life Sciences from recognized university Qualification with 3 years / 4 years of bachelor degree. Specialization of life / basic sciences in Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Sciences /Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Botany with experience of one year
Desirable: Any post graduation degree in Life Sciences/Medical Sciences/Biological Sciences from recognized university. Working experience in sugarcane. plant molecular biology and genetic transformation in plants.
Age Limit: 30 years for men & 35 years for women. The age limits are relaxable for SC. ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms.

The Institute is located at Coimbatore (77oE longitude and 11oN latitude)in Southern India on the leeward side of Western Ghats at 427 metres above mean sea level and receives an annual average of rainfall of 800 mm, bulk of it during the months of October-December.
