Job Description
Name of the Project: Mainstreaming rice landraces diversity in varietal development
through genome- wide association studies: A model for large-scale utilization of gene bank
collections of rice.
Project Associate-I (Five for NBPGR & one for DBT)
Pay Scale: Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA
Essential qualification: Master's Degree in Agriculture/Botany/Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences or related subjects with specialization in Bio-informatics/Biotechnology from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in Molecular Biology/ Plant Pathology or bioinformatics analysis.
Upper age limit: 35 years

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set.
