Title of The Project: Microbial Stimulation and Augmentation of Gas Content of Coal Seam
Principal Investigator: Dr. Keka Ojha Professor, Department of Petroleum Engineering Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad-826 004, Jharkhand. Email: kekaojha@iitism.ac.in,
Tenure of Project: 1.0 Year or co-terminus with the project whichever is earlier
Job Description (in maximum of 100 words):
a. Characterization of coal, CBM gas and formation water. Identification of origin of gas through carbon isotope and gas indices
b. Identification and separation of microbes (bacteria and fungi) and their consortium in formation water. Culture and growth of suitable microbes responsible for coal degradation to intermediate and methane formation (methanagenation) and coalbed stimulation (increase in porosity and permeability)
c. Study on recovery of gas from coal
Essential Qualification: PhD in CBM related field, M.E./M.Tech/B.E/B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology; M.Sc in Applied Microbiology/microbiology with more than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA in Master Degree. Final Year Appearing students may also apply.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in the relevant fields.
Fellowship: 31000/- per month + 20% HRA if applicable
Age Limit: Age and Relaxation (if any) Max 32 years + relaxation as per GoI norms
