Project Fellow Zoology /Project Assistant Jobs recruitment in Zoological Survey of India
Project Fellow*/01 Post
Qualification: M. Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences/ Environmental Science or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Prior work experience in the field surveys on higher vertebrates / knowledge / experience / interest in wildlife/ecology/conservation biology/ Genetics/DNA Barcoding/Molecular phylogeny/climate change. Proven experience through internship/dissertation/volunteership in field data collection or in DNA analysis, Science writing and communication.
Age: up to 28 years
Stipend : Rs. 18000
Project Assistant / 01 Post
Qualification: Science/ Engineering graduate or equivalent .
Desirable Qualification : Prior experience in handling lab equipments, processing museum/old samples/ DNA analysis/ sequencing/ data analysis using R statistics and other bioinformatics softwares. Interested in wildlife/ecology/conservation genetics and proven experience through internship/dissertation/volunteership in field data collection or in DNA analysis.
Age: up to 31 years
Stipend : Rs. 10000/- per month- all inclusive)
No.of Posts: 02 (1-Project Fellow /1- Project Assistant)
Desirable qualifications are only indicative in nature. In case of exceptional candidates, these may be relaxed. *Candidates in final year of M.Sc. will have to produce Provisional Mark-cards to appear for the interview.
# UGC/CSIR NET JRF/GATE qualified candidates would be awarded fellowship in line with DST norms, while otherwise competent/ suitable candidates would be provided fellowship as mentioned above which are likely to be amended as per ZSI norms.
Duration: Initially up to 31st March 2019, may be extended for further period(s) based on satisfactory performance of individual and funding.

established on 1st July, 1916 to promote survey, exploration and
research leading to the advancement in our knowledge of various aspects
of exceptionally rich life of the erstwhile British Indian Empire .The
survey has its genesis in the establishment of the Zoological Section of
the Indian Museum at Calcutta in 1875. By gradually strengthening its
staff and expanding its research programme, the Survey has met the
challenge of the past and is on its way to meet the demands of the
future. It has maintained its primary objectives unchanged from its
