Job Description
Job Title: Project Intern
A UNESCO Category 2 Centre on World Natural Heritage Management and Training for the Asia - Pacific Region at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has been recently established to strengthen the implementation of UNESCO’s World Heritage Convention in the AsiaPacific region with particular focus on natural heritage conservation. As a part of its activities, UNESCO C2C, Dehradun invites application for Walk-in Interview for engaging Project Intern (one position) purely on contractual basis for a period of 7 months. The EQ, DQ and other details of the posts are as under:
Engagement Positions: Project Intern- (one position) for preparation of Nomination Dossier for Keibul Lamjao Conservation Area, Manipur.
Duration: Seven Months
Essential Qualification (EQ): Masters’ Degree in Zoology/ Wildlife Science / Ecology / Forestry / Environment Science with a minimum of one year of research experience
Desirable Qualification (DQ): Research experience in biodiversity, socio-economic and wildlife research especially in North-East region. Ability to conduct ecological and socioeconomic research in tough field conditions.
Description of Job:
- Conduct field research for primary data collection on various aspects of biodiversity in Keibul Lamjao Conservation Area, Manipur.
- Coordinate meetings and PRA exercises with the local village communities and organize stakeholder consultations.
- Collect geospatial data / take up ground-trothing in selected areas of Keibul Lamjao Conservation Area, Manipur.
- Desktop review of literature related to biodiversity of Keibul Lamjao Conservation Area, Manipur and assist in preparation of report.
- Liaison between the field officials of Manipur Forest Department and Project Team of C2C.
Emoluments: 8000/- per month (Consolidated)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on the date of interview.
Location: Dehradun
