Qualification : Masters in any subject or Bachelors (Honors) in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent. Excellent analytical ability essential. Familiarity with metadata annotation and curation for development of a digital library/repository preferred.3 years in relevant activities or 2 years if qualification is in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent and hands-on experience in metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers Hands-on experience in a digital library/repository in some of the followings: o Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific) o Large volume metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers o DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme o MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling o Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository o Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point o Setting up Institutional Digital Repository with content management software like DSpace, EPrint, etc. o Planning, structuring and operations, coordination of large volume metadata annotation/curation work for a digital o Copyright issues for digital library/repository Responsibilities for the position are several of the followings: o Metadata annotation & curation of large volume sources using services programmers o Guiding junior curators for annotating & curating metadata and reviewing and certifying their outputs o Setting up Institutional Digital Repository o Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository o Training/hand-holding others in setting up and harvesting Institutional Digital Repository Posting: Kharagpur or Kolkata or Guwahati Other Benefit: o House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Central Government norm if posted at Kolkata or Guwahati.
