Project Research Scientist/ No. of Position(s); 1
Project title: National Carbonaceous Aerosol Programme (NCAP): Carbonaceous Aerosol Emissions,Source Apportionment and Climate Effects
Qualification& Experience (Essential):1. PhD degree in climate, atmospheric science, or related field with atleast 2 publications in International Journals.
2. Two years of experience in designing and performing experiments with GCMs & RCMs.
3. Prior work experience on extreme weather events & monsoon variability over India.
4. Knowledge of aerosol-climate interaction & climate impacts; physical mechanisms driving
climate change in South Asia.
Desirable: Specific proficiency in scientific programming languages such as Fortran, Matlab, R and Python; experience in high performance computing; porting and tunning the models on various platforms; shell scripting and meteorological data analysis tools (GrADS, FERRET, NCL, Python, NCO, CDO); handling large volumes of data (formats including like NetCDF, HDF, GRIB, ASCII)
Pay Details: Consolidated salary Rs.71000 + 24% HRA p.m.
