Name of Post : Project Scientific Associate-I

Educational Qualification : Consistently good academic career with First Class in M.Sc (Applied Physics/ Optics/ Photonics) or M.Sc (Tech) or M.Tech in Optics/ Photonics/ Applied Physics or M.Tech in Astronomy Instrumentation/ Optics from a recognized University / Institution.

Experience : Experience in designing optical systems using optical design software packages such as ZEMAX/CODE-V/ASAP and/or test & calibration of optical components and/or integration & calibration of optical instruments etc. is desirable.

Remuneration : Rs. 40,000/- (Consolidated).

Age : 32 years

Place of posting : Bangalore.

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics is a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and related physics. It traces its origins back to an observatory set up in 1786 at Madras which from the year 1792 began to formally function at its Nungambakkam premises as the Madras Observatory. In 1899, the observatory moved to Kodaikanal. In the year 1971, the Kodaikanal Observatory became an autonomous society, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. The headquarters were shifted to Bangalore into its present campus in Koramangala in 1975.
