Educational
Qualification and Experience : Essential Qualification : 1 Class
M.Sc./M.Tech/M.Phil in Geology/Earth Science/Hydrology/Meteorology/Physics/
Chemistry of other allied subjects.
Desirable
Qualification:
(i) Ph.D. in the area of Glaciology or three years research
experience in the specialized field of Glaciology.
(ii) Field experience in the following fields of Glaciology
:-
(a) Physical Glaciology : Glacier Mass Balance and Dynamics,
Glacial Geomorphology, Glacial Sedimentology, Glacial Seismicity and Remote
Sensing.
(b) Climate Change : Atmospheric Sciences, including
Atmospheric Chemistry, Physics, Meteorology, Snow/Ice Melt Water Chemistry and
Isotope Studies.
(c) Glacial Hydrology : Snow/Ice Melt Water Discharge,
Sediment Transfer, Englacial and Subglacial Hydrology.
(d) Environmental Glaciology, including Ecology.
Pay Scale : Rs.
15,600 – 39,100 + Grade Pay : Rs. 5,400/-
