Position Overview:

The professional will be responsible for the means and also the measures for testing all the aspects of a software solution including Big Data and backend in order to meet the requirements and overall quality of the intended solution. 

You will work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements, and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines. 

You will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user-friendly.

Job Responsibilities

• Minimum 2-3 years of work experience as a Quality Analyst.
• 1-2 years of work experience in Big Data Testing with experience in Scala, Hadoop Stack and Sqoop
• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
• Create and execute strategies and test cases for applications that use ETL components
• Develop test scripts utilizing comprehensive business requirements, functional documentation and processes.
• Writing test data scripts, based on ETL mapping artefacts
• Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment.
• Troubleshoot Hadoop Applications and rectify any problem.
• Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
• Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate them
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Be able to come up with contingency plans in case of breakdown

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Proficiency and good knowledge of Scala
• Knowledge of languages like Java, C++, C# and Scala
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem and its components
• Expertise knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, HBase, and Spark
• Experience in Linux and Shell Scripting
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.
• Big Data Certifications are an added advantage
• Advanced level of expertise in Database testing with excellent PL SQL skills
• Data warehouse testing experience will be required.
• Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
