Job Description

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the post of Research Assistant Social Sciences  to work on the following project sponsored by BITS Research Initiation Grant, under the supervision of Dr. Lavanya Suresh, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus.

Title of the project: Alternative ways of understanding ecological conservation

Eligibility requirements: M.A./ M.Phil. in Social Sciences (Political Science/ Sociology/ Anthropology /Development Studies/Economics/Gender Studies/Human Rights/Natural Resource Governance/ Environment Studies/Geography) Strong command over MS Word/Excel is required
The candidate has to have good command over a south Indian language – either Tamil/
Malayalam /Telegu/ Kannada (speaking and writing)Candidate must be willing to travel

Desirable: Candidates with prior experience in the social sciences related field work, data collection and data analysis; those who have engaged in report writing/publications in peer reviewed journals;
having good command over English will be preferred. Candidates who reside in Karnataka are
encouraged to apply. Female candidates will be given preference. 

No. of posts: One (Temporary)

Duration: Time bound for a period of 4 months. You will be expected to join in the first week
of January.

Fellowship amount: Rs. 20,000 per month (Consolidated)
