Title of the Project: Development of metagenomics assisted surveillance tools for tracking antibiotic resistance in river bodies (Nanolog) (RP03711G)
Consolidated fellowship / Pay -slab: Rs 47,000/- pm plus HRA @ 24%
Qualifications:
a) Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or any related area. Should be fluent in programming one scripting language. Should be capable of writing own programs for HTS data analysis. Should know different computational analyses with a focus on the sequencing data, performing quality control, metagenomic genome assembly, annotation, related to antimicrobial resistance genes and mobile genetic elements (plasmids and transposons). should know existing state-of-the-art methodologies and AMR databases.
b) Should speak English fluently and have proven writing ability. Should know "Python" or any other script language and be comfortable with performing analyses on a Linux-based operating system through the command line ("shell, bash"). Should be interested in learning a workflow management system such as"Snakemake" or "Nextflow". should know basics of database and web tool management.
