Name of the project : Development of a selection methodology for Roadheader and Tunnel Boring Machine in different geological conditions for rapid tunneling
Qualification : Essential: Candidate should have B.Tech./B.E. in Mining Engineering with M.Tech. in Mining Engineering/ Mine Planning & Design/ Rock Excavation Engineering/ Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology/ Rock Mechanics or B.Tech./B.E. in Civil Engineering with M.Tech. in Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology/ Rock Mechanics or B.Tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering with M.Tech in Machine Design/ Manufacturing Engg./ Production Engg. with minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPA on a 10-point scale. Candidates should also have a Ph.D. or 3 years of research/design and development experience. Desirable: Candidates with NET/GATE qualification and prior experience in the relevant research such as CAD/CAM/CAE, Modelling/Simulation capability in Ansys/Abaqus/LS Dyna etc are preferred.

With the Mines Bill becoming a law vide Indian Mines Act – VIII of 1901 the necessity for establishing a government college of Mining Engineering at some suitable place in India on the pattern of the Royal School of Mines was felt by the then Indian Government.
