Research Associate Plant Breeding /SRF/ Young Professional-II/Technical Assistant recruitment in Indian Institute of Rice Research

1. DBT project entitled : 'From QTL to Variety: Genomic Assisted 1ntrogression and Field Evaluation of Rice varieties with Genes/QTLs for Yield under Drought, Flood and Salt stress'. 

Research Associate /1 Post

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. Degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Life Sciences/Agricultural Biotechnology/Biotechnology OR Master's Degree with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor degree having 1s` division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with atleast two years of research experience with evidence.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in field research and Marker assisted introgression in rice. Work experience in computer skills for data management and manuscript preparation and at least one research paper in good NAAS rated journals (as circulated vide DST vide OM No. SR/S9/Z-09/2012. dated 21.10.2014)

Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Genetics/Plant breeding/Plant biotechnology/Plant Sciences/Life sciences from a recognized and reputed university with 4 ears / 5 years of Bachelor's Degree OR PG in Basic sciences with 3 years Bachelor's Degree and 2 years Master's Degree in Life Sciences/Plant Sciences/Genetics/Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology and a minimum of 2 years of experience after Post Graduation Degree with NET qualification.

Desirable Qualifications: 1-2 years research experience in rice breeding/biotechnology as evidenced by publications and reference letters. 

Emoluments: Rs. 28,000

3. Harvest Plus Project: Biofortification of rice Tenure: Initially for one year and extendable upto two more years upon the performance of the candidate. 

Young Professional-II/1 Post

 Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or related disciplines. 

Desirable Qualifications: Two years of Research Experience in rice biotechnology or breeding as evidenced by publications and reference letters; working knowledge in computers. 

Emoluments: Rs. 25,000

Project Assistant /1 Post

Essential Qualifications: (i) B.Sc. degree in Life science/Agriculture/Plant Biotechnology/Plant Sciences/Genetics. (ii) Research experience in field experiments/laboratory techniques/green house. 

Desirable Qualifications: Masters degree in Agriculture/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Plant Sciences/Biochemistry with knowledge in computers.

5. ICAR Project: National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) Tenure: Initially for One year and extendable on year to year basis depending upon the erformance of the candidate.

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. Degree in Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology with specialization in plant molecular biology. 

Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in gene expression analysis, gene cloning, plant transformation, next generation sequencing and bioinformatics. Published research papers in support of claimed research experience.

6. SERB (DST, Govt. of India) Project: 'Identification of heterotic yield QTLs in Swarna x Oryza rufipogan intogresion lines (ILs) and transferring into parental lines of hybrid rice to enhance the magnitude of heterosis. Tenure: Initially for One year and extendable on year to year basis depending upon the performance of the candidate. 

Senior Research Fellow /1 Post

Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Genetics/Plant breeding/Agriculture biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Plan Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences with 4 years/5 years of Bachelors degree OR Masters Degree in Genetics/Plant breeding/Agriculture biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences with 3 years of Bachelors degree and NET Qualification. 

Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in molecular breeding, QTL analysis, and other relevant biotechnology' and breeding techniques.

7.Project: IIRR-Core Tenure: Initially for a period of one year and likely to be extendable

Young Professional- I /1 Post

Essential Qualifications: Graduates/ Diploma holders in Computer Science/ Information Technology. 

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of database management system, Oracle, Java, SQL and good communication skills, knowledge of Management Information System/Financial Management System. Work experience with use of ERP (FMS/MIS) in public or private organization will be given preference.

8. Evaluation of Iron coated seed for Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) Tenure: Initially for a period of one year and likely to be extendable

Essential Qualifications: Graduation preferably in commerce 

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge in computers. Work experience in FMS MIS & PFMS.

9. Newton-Bhaba Virtual Centre on Nitrogen Efficiency of Whoe-Cropping systems for improved performance and resilience in agriculture (NEWS India-UK) 

Technical Assistant/1 Post

Essential Qualifications: A degree in Life Sciences with Botany or Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Graduate in Agricultural Sciences or diploma in Agriculture. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in laboratory work and willingness to work in the field. 

Emoluments: Rs. 12,000

Research Associates: Below 40 years for men and 45 years for women (exemption of maximum age upto 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC & 10 years for Pll candidates shall be allowed as per rules). 

Young Professional -I & II: Should have completed 21 years of age and the maximum age shall be 45 years.
