Job Description
The Indian Statistical Institute invites applications for
the following Degree/Diploma Programmes and Research Fellowships:
1. 3-year Bachelor of Statistics (B. Stat.) (Hons.)
2. 3-year Bachelor of Mathematics (B. Math.) (Hons.)
3. 2-year Master of Statistics (M.Stat.)
4. 2-year Master of Mathematics (M. Math.)
5. 2-year M. S. in Quantitative Economics (MS QE)
6. 2-year M. S. in Quality Management Science (MS QMS)
7. 2-year M. S. in Library & Information Science (MS
LIS)
8. 2-year M. Tech. in Computer Science (M Tech CS)
9. 2-year M. Tech. in Cryptology and Security (M Tech CrS)
10. 2- year M. Tech. in Quality, Reliability and Operations
Research (M Tech QROR)
11. 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in ComputerApplications (PGD
CA)
12. 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in Statistical Methods and
Analytics (PGD SMA)
13. Junior Research Fellowships in Statistics, Mathematics,
Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, Quality, Reliability & Operations
Research, Physics and Applied Mathematics, Geology, Library & Information
Science, Biological Science.
Stipends, Fellowships
and Allowances : All non-sponsored students and research
fellows admitted to various programmes, except the Postgraduate Diploma in
Computer Applications, receive stipends, fellowships and contingency/book
grants as given below. Non-sponsored candidates are not required to pay any
tuition fee for any of the programmes. Stipends are granted in the first
instance for one semester/ academic year only. They are renewed periodically if
the progress of the student is found satisfactory. Stipend/ Fellowship granted
to a student may be reduced or completely withdrawn if the academic progress,
attendance in class, or character and conduct of the student are not found
satisfactory. Details of the rules pertaining to this are available in the
appropriate Students’ Brochure. Students leaving in the middle of a course have
to refund the stipend/contingency grant received, if any. At the end of each
year/semester, prizes are also awarded for outstanding performance in
examinations.
Selection Procedure :
Written Tests and interview.
Application Fee
Rs. 1250.00 for all applicants in the general category, and
Rs. 625.00 for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC
(NCL)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories.
