Job Description
Job Title: Research Intern
About the Internship: The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India, in the field of wildlife research, training and management. The WII invites application for Walk-in-Interview/Skype for engaging Research Intern (one position) for the project ‘Implementing Rhino DNA Indexing System (RhODIS) to counter Rhino poaching threat and aid population management in India’ purely on contractual basis for a period of three months on 17th February, 2017 at WII.

Duration: Three months
Emoluments: Consolidated Fellowship: Rs. 8000 per month
Essential Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Zoology/Life Sciences/Biological Sciences/Genetics/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Prior experience of molecular work with tissue and noninvasive samples is desirable. Theoretical understanding of population genetics is a plus. Knowledge of basic population genetic analysis is an added advantage.
Age: Shall not be more than 28 years. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Government of India rules.
