Job Description
Jr. Assistant under special recruitment drive for Scheduled Castes and for Visually Handicapped Persons in the Rubber Board
Qualifications: 1) Pass in 12th class or equivalent qualification from a recognised Board or University. 2) A typing speed of 30 w.p.m. in English on manual typewriter or 35 w.p.m. in computer. (35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word). However, Visually Handicapped persons whose physical disability permanently prevents them from typing are exempted from typing speed subject to production of certificate from the Medical Board.
No. of vacancies : 5 (2 vacancies reserved for SC and 3 vacancies for Visually Handicapped persons).
Pay Band: Rs.5200-20200 (PB1) with Grade Pay Rs.1900
Age limit as on 27.03.2016 : 27 years. (relaxable as per reservation rules).
Selection Procedure: The written test will be held at Guwahati or Agartala.

The Rubber Board is a statutory body constituted by the Government of India, under the Rubber Act 1947, for the overall development of the rubber industry in the country. The government set up an ad-hoc committee in 1945 to study the situation and to make appropriate recommendation. On the recommendation of this ad-hoc committee, the government passed the Rubber (Production and Marketing) Act, 1947, on 18th April 1947, and the “Indian Rubber Board” was constituted forthwith. The Rubber Production and Marketing (Amendment) Act, 1954, amended the name of the Board as “The Rubber Board”.
