Job description: 

  • We are looking for a sales manager who have good hands on experience of sales team management, selling holiday packages and managing clients for International and Domestic destinations or Outbound / Inbound tours. 
  • Candidate will be responsible for controlling, assisting and handling sales team with result oriented approach, itinerary making for customized tour plans, sell tour plans when needed, getting connected to service providers for Hotels/ Air/ Cab/ Bus for domestic and International destinations directly or indirectly. Creating sales report, forecast and timely reporting to higher management.

Job Role:

  • Responsible for achieving the target business by sales team by leading and managing.
  • Sales team support and assisting at anytime
  • Monitoring customer funnel development, prospect identification, client evaluation, sales evaluation, solution offering, sales closure and implementing alternative plans and control measures in case of deviation in objectives would constitute his key activities.
  • Design and implement operating procedures for the customers which will include everything from handling enquiries, designing bespoke trips, taking payments, providing information’s, crisis management and complaint resolution
  • Receiving calls/ emails and providing the clients with best possible routing for their destination and at a competitive fares available in the market.
  • Designing itineraries, hotel booking, costing and do best for sales conversion.
  • Responsible for creating and to maintain an environment which will motivate everybody to work as a team towards attaining organizational goal.
  • Monitor performance and forward release report monthly to dedicated person for release of incentives.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments inside company.
  • Responsible to represent Trip Me for all strategic tie-ups and contracting with corporate, Hoteliers and other all aggregators.
  • Recruit, train and manage the new sales representatives.
  • Document all operating procedures
  • Handling and resolving customer queries/ issues pertaining to hotel/ package/ air/ or any other relevant reservations.
  • Knowledge of competitors, latest technologies in tourism and types of tours been offered
  • Responsible for sending various reports to above functional areas. It is expected to send these reports timely along with his suggestions and analysis as per best of his understanding on the subject
  • Need to make note of his/her improvement areas as told to him through various means and is expected to imbibe the control measures to the best of his/her abilities.
  • Be responsible for crisis management and complaint resolution for the sales team

Travel Experience and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge on travel industry, best practice in relation to industry standards, health & safety and the law.
  • Experience of tourism operating procedures such as trip plan making procedures, booking procedures
  • Experience of customer communication via email, phone and face to face
  • Experience of developing itineraries specific to customer needs, providing quotes, taking payments and providing essential information to customers
  • Experience of managing suppliers such as hotels and transportation companies
  • Man management skills within tourism environment

Education & Experience:

  • Should have minimum 1+ years (MANDATORY) of experience as a Tour manager or sales manager with a degree on travel and tourism management or MBA
  • Should have minimum 2+ years total experience on sales (Any industry) or in tourism industry
  • Total experience on travel and tourism industry should be less than 3 years
  • Having certification in IATA/UFTAA will advantage though it’s not mandatory

Candidates should have following skills:

  • Fluent in English by verbal, written and in communication
  • Fluent in Hindi. Any local language will be considered as an advantage
  • A pleasant, friendly manner with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to get on well with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • A supportive, tactful and approachable manner
  • Good listening and questioning skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Self-confidence and the ability to inspire confidence in others
  • Good health and physical fitness in order to cope with the demands of the job
  • The capacity to make decision quickly and change arrangements as required.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and cope up with the emergencies
  • A flexible work approach
  • Energy, stamina and the enthusiasm to cope with different peoples need and demand over long, irregular working hours
  • An interest in geography and historical sites
  • Able to work on holidays or in Sundays as per company’s needs.
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: 3 lakhs – 3.60 lakhs + incentives
