Designation -Research Scientist- Electronics / Communication / Telecommunication
Number of Job Vacancies -19 (Nineteen)
Essential Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university / institution with minimum 55% marks.
- The candidates who have appeared in their final semester of their graduation can also apply. However he/she must possess Essential Qualification at the time of joining.
Desirable
- Experience in electronic circuit, handling of test and measurement instruments and electromagnetic / circuit simulation.
Remuneration
- Rs. 30000.00/- per month (consolidated pay) with annual increment.
Duration
- 2 years or duration of the project, whichever earlier.
Age limit
- 30 years

Selection Procedure
- Candidates will be selected based on written test/personal interview/medical test/walkin interview
General Instruction:
- Only Indian nationals need to apply.
- Selected candidates will have liability to serve anywhere in the country and may be posted in any of the project sites in the country as per the requirements of SAMEER, Kolkata.
- Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the all the eligibility criteria prescribed for the post they have applied to. In case, if it is found in any stage of selection process or even after the appointment that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information or suppressed relevant information / material or does not fulfill the criteria, his/ her candidature/ service is liable to be rejected / terminated without notice.
- Candidates will have to produce all original certificates for verification at the time of interview.
- Application received without scanned copies of certificate for essential qualification, experience or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
- Candidates desirous of applying for more than one post must apply separately for each post indicating the Post Code.
- The appointment shall not confer any right for regularization/ absorption or continuation of service in SAMEER.
- The person selected for contract appointment will not have any claim or right for his / her continuity in service or extension of the term contract.
- No TA/ DA will be paid to candidates for appearing for written test/ interview.
- SAMEER reserves the right to reject or accept the candidature of any applicant at any stage. Candidates found not fulfilling the prescribed educational qualification will not be considered for selection. The decision of Selection Committee, duly approved by the competent authority will be final.

SAMEER was set up as an autonomous R & D laboratory at Mumbai under the then Department of Electronics, Government of India with a broad mandate to undertake R & D work in the areas of Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology. It is an offshoot of the special microwave products unit (SMPU) set up in 1977 at the TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Mumbai. SAMEER, Mumbai was setup in 1984. Centre for Electromagnetics, SAMEER Chennai which was under Department of Electronics (DOE) was merged with SAMEER in 1987.Centre for Microwave & Millimeterwave, SAMEER Kolkata was set up in 1994.Elecromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Laboratory, SAMEER Visakhapatnam was established in 2014. Centre for High Power Microwave Tube and Component Technology, SAMEER Guwahati was established in 2015.
