Scientific Assistant-(B)

One post (Unreserved); Pay Level 6;Pay Stage 1, Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 54126/-; HQ: Mumbai.

Qualification & Experience: 1) Full time Science Graduate (Chemistry or allied areas) with aggregate 60% marks from a recognised University/Institute

2) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.

3) 1 year experience (in Chemistry laboratories in educational institutions or R & D laboratories or in chemical industries).

Desirable: Experience in chemistry experimental development or teaching/managing of chemistry laboratory courses, analysis of data and report writing, competency with common word processing and data analysis softwares such as MS-Office, Libre-office, etc. Good proficiency in English language and writing skills in English and/or any other regional language. MSc candidates in relevant subject and experience will be preferred. However, the candidate must meet the mandatory requirement under qualification and experience as per the recruitment norms.

Job Requirement: The candidate will be involved with various chemistry education activities of the Centre viz Chemistry Olympiad, National Initiative in Undergraduate Science, Vigyan Pratibha and teacher development programs of HBCSE. The person is expected to travel to different parts of the country, especially for teacher development programmes. The person will be regularly involved with written/audio-visual content development related to experimental chemistry and chemistry education. In addition, the candidate will provide organizational support for the various programmes, including management of day-to-day activities of chemistry laboratory as per the needs of the programmes.
