Scientist ‘B’ (Biochemistry)

Qualification  : 1st class Master’s degree in Biochemistry from a recognized university. Or 2nd class M.Sc. in Biochemistry + Ph.D in Biochemistry/Medical Biochemistry/ Pharmacology from a recognized University.

Desirable  :  (i) Doctorate in Biochemistry from a recognised University for candidates with first class M.Sc. in Biochemistry (ii) Minimum two years of research experience in Biochemistry. (iii) Knowledge on Clinical Pharmacology of anti-TB drugs & experience of working on HPLC instrument. (iii) Experience in writing research proposals.

Scientist ‘B’ (Social & Behavioural Sciences)

Qualification : 1st class Master degree in Sociology/ Social Work/ Medical Sociology/ Psychology/ Anthropology from a recognized University. Or 2nd class M.Sc. + Ph.D degree in Sociology/ Social Work/ Medical Sociology/ Psychology/ Anthropology from a recognized University

Scientist ‘B’ (Medical)

No. of Post  :  01  (UR) – Epidemiology Unit

Qualification :  MBBS recognized by MCI

Desirable : 1. MD in PSM/Ph.D Epidemiology 2. MPH/ M.Sc. Epidemiology with 2 years experience 3. Additional Post Doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects in recognised institute (s). 4. Knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management. 5. Two years R & D/Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualifications.

Pay Scale :  Pay Level 10 of VII CPC (Pay Band PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- (pre-revised VI CPC) (Basic Pay – Rs. 56,100/- + allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above Pay Level).

Age Limit :  Not exceeding 35 years. Relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.

Application Fee : The candidate has to remit application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) (wherever applicable) through Demand Draft from a nationalized bank in favour of the Director, National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis payable at Chennai. SC/ST/women and physically handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the application fee. DDs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
