Designation: Scientist-I
Profile Summary: Responsible for timely testing of samples of feed for compositional and mineral mixture for inorganic analysis. Method standardization and ensuring compliance of laboratory operations to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 & regulatory agencies guidelines.
Key roles and Responsibility:
a. Perform analysis of samples for assigned parameters & reporting of results of proximate parameters in feed & agro-products as per BIS standards. Perform required method's validation and verification.
b. Ensuring the proper storage of test materials at appropriate storarge condition to maintain integrity during and after analysis. Usage & proper storage of Certified reference material (CRM), Standard reference material (SRM) and chemicals.
c. Prepare required standard operating procedures (SOPs) & work instructions (WIs). To implement quality assurance/quality control (QC) program in analytical work to ensure the accuracy of the analysis and to meet the regulatory requirement of accreditation and recognition bodies. Implement corrective actions wherever required.
d. Estimate measurement of uncertainty of respective test parameters. Calibrate and standardize sophisticated equipment.
e. Verify and approve test results and maintain technical records including vetting of analytical data. Ensuring calculations & data transfer in a systematic manner. Supervision of analytical work of Trainee/Technician.
f. Assistance in enhancing scope of accreditation and maintaining the various accreditation/recognitions from the bodies like NABL, BIS etc. Thorough understanding & implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for technical operations.
g. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety requirements, good housekeeping and maintain required environmental conditions as per test method. Indenting of chemicals, glassware and equipment.
h. Shall carryout assigned research work, interpretation, report preparation and paper publication. Support business development activity through technical inputs.
i. Supervise the work of trainees and technicians. Technical support to Proficiency Test Provider group (PT) on sample preparation and statistical data analysis.
j. Working as per timelines and handling work pressure. Any other task assigned by Group Head/Reporting Officer.
Qualification & Experience: The incumbent should have a Master's degree in Animal Nutrition. Candidate should have 2 - 5 years of hands on experience in the testing of feed and food for proximate analysis.
