Name of the Project: Establishing a network of population based influenza surveillance platforms for elderly persons in India.

Essential Qualification: MBBS recognized by MCI with 2 years research/teaching experience Desirable Qualification and Experience a) MD/MPH/MAE/PhD in Public Health/ Community Medicine/ Preventive and Social Medicine/Epidemiology from a recognized university. b) Knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management c) Experience of field-based health-related research, including field supervision and data collection d) Proficient to speak and read in Tamil

Scientist B (Non-Medical) /1- OBC
Name of the Project: Establishing a network of population based influenza surveillance platforms for elderly persons in India
Place of posting NIE, Chennai
Essential Qualification : 1st class Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Medical Lab Technology/ Virology/ Biotechnology from a recognized university with 2 years experience in the relevant field OR 2ndClass M.Sc + Ph.D in above subjects from a recognized university. Desirable Qualification and Experience a) Working Knowledge of Bioinformatics b) Hands-on experience in molecular microbiology / virology techniques viz. qPCR, sequencing etc. c) Knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management d) Experience of working as part of a research project team e) Experience should be supported by experience certificates/testimonials/ publications etc. from public sector/ privatemultispeciality hospitals/ accredited diagnostic laboratories/ Medical research institutes/ universities.
Emoluments: Rs. 48000/- + HRA per month
Age Limit: 38 years (including 3 Years age relaxation for OBC)

No.of Posts: 1 (OBC/UR) - NIE-ICMR-WHO Online Course for Ethics Committees in India (Preference will be given to OBC Candidates)
2) 1 (UR) - Model District for Public Health Preparedness, Surveillance and Response: Multi-Strategic Integrated Approach in Tiruvallur District, Tamilnadu, India Place of posting NIE, Chennai.
Essential Qualification 1) 12th pass or equivalent from a recognized board with 5 years experience in administrative work (OR) Graduate in any discipline with 2 years experience of administration work AND 2) A typing speed of 35wpm in English or 10500 KDPH in English.
Age Limit: 31 Years for OBC Post (including 3 Years age relaxation for OBC) and 28 Years for UR Post (No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC Candidates)
