Group C

Qualification : Matriculation or its equivalent with ITI in relevant trade (Recognized by SCVT/NCVT) and for other posts: 12th or its equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate. The compulsion of 50% marks in aggregate will not be insisted upon in case of SC, ST, Ex. Servicemen Candidates and candidates possessing qualification higher than 12th or its equivalent.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1900/-

Group D

Qualification: Matriculation (10th) or its equivalent. (B) Scouting: (a) President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section, (b) Should have been an active member of a Scouts Organization for the last 05 years. The 'Certificate of activeness' should be in the prescribed format which will be made available on the NER's website. (c) Should have attended two events at National Level or All Indian Railway's Level and two events at State Level.

Pay Scale :  Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1800/-

Age Limit :  18-33 years.

Examination Fee : (I) For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (II) below: Rs. 500/-(Rupees Five Hundred only). Refund of T 400 will be made to those candidates who actually appear in the written examination. (Ii) For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Persons With Disabilities (PwDs), Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/-(Rs. Two Hundred Fifty only). Refund of Rs.  250/- will be made to those candidates who actually appear in the written examination. The requisite Examination Fee should be deposited as provided on the web page of the online application form. After depositing the Examination fee, the candidate should login again and take a printout of the application form for his/her reference.

Mode of Selection & Recruitment Process : The candidates, who are found eligible for consideration for recruitment against Scouts & Guides quota shall be assessed on the following basis:- Written Examination- 60 marks :  Separate Written Examinations shall be j conducted for Group 'C' and Group 'D' posts. The written examination will consist of 40 objective question (40 marks) & 01 essay type question (20 marks) relating to Scouts and Guides organization and its activities and General Knowledge as per the syllabus given in para 7 here under.
