Your Role and Responsibilities

Who you are:

As a Security Software Development Engineer, you will develop new features to customer requirements, debug issues seen by customers, fix defects, work with QA on testing release and work with support to solve customers issues.
The Cloud Pack for Data System (CPDS) team works on an industry leading high-performance hybrid cloud on-premises Data and AI platform in a box. This hyper-converged high-performance infrastructure combines storage, compute, networking, and software into plug-and-play nodes which can easily and elastically scale to suit changing data and AI needs. The components are architected using modern technologies, and the team adopts a blend of agile and traditional methodologies to deliver with speed and quality.

Technical Skills –

Total 5+ years of experience
Fluent in Perl and Ksh '88 (Korn Shell) scripting.
Solid working knowledge of AIX, strong understanding of complex distributed systems.
Security:
Create and manage user accounts in AIX & Linux systems.
Familiarity with external Identity management solutions like LDAP, Windows Active directory, IPA
Familiarity with SSL certificate management
Understanding vulnerability details like CVE's
Manage patching on AIX
CI/CD development practices.
Understands Agile and Scrum Methodology of developing in iterations .
Clear Communication Skills
Good team motivator and strong relationship-building skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Security:

Knowledge of Industry compliance/hardening requirements like PCI, GDPR, HIPPA, STIG
Install and configure vulnerability scanners on AIX & Linux
Working with firewall using iptables or firewalled
Python scripting knowledge
Working knowledge of container based technologies
Understanding of hardware based systems programming
Ability to integrate into a complex integrated system with many technical stakeholders
Strong cross functionality ownership (dev + test + release + support)
Good debugging skills
Be able to participate in the Quality and Automation of the product as needed as Quality is very integral to the product
