Job Description
Project: Projection of disctrict level annual population by quienquennial age group and sex from 2011 to 2031 in India
Senior Research Officer/No. of Positions: One The appointment will be purely on contract basis.
Position: Senior Research Officer
Essential Qualifications: 1. Ph.D. degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Mathematics/Demography/Population Studies OR M.Phil. degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Mathematics/Demography/Population Studies
and one-year experience of working in Demographic and/or Health related research project,
OR Master’s degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Mathematics/Demography/Population Studies
and two-year experience of working in Demographic and/or Health related research
project,
2. At least degree/diploma/certificate in Population Studies/Demography and Statistics/
Biostatistics/Mathematics
Desirable Qualifications: 1. Experience in research based on secondary data, utilizing terms and concepts related to population projection methods. 2. Exposure to extracting and analysing Census data.
Note: Essential qualifications may be relaxed by the selection committee in case of a candidate
found exceptionally suitable otherwise.
Salary: Consolidated salary between Rs. 37,000/- and Rs.70,000/- per month on the basis of
qualification and experience.
Duration: 6 months (likely to be extended till the tenure of the project)
