Job Description
The Department of Life Sciences in the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) at Shiv Nadar University (SNU) invites applications for admission in its Ph.D. Program starting in August 2016
Research in the Department of Life Sciences is multifaceted with major focus in the areas of : Malaria , Cancer biology, Vascular biology, Virology , Bacterial genomics and morphogenesis , Neuroscience, Protein folding and stress response, Bioinformatics
Eligibility : A candidate should have (or expect to have by August 2015) an M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences, with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point. Short-listed candidates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge through an on-site written test and interview. Candidates who have qualified for CSIR-UGC NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF or any other Government research fellowship are strongly preferred.
Selection Process : (As per program) Eligibility criteria mentioned above are minimum standards and applications not meeting the same will be summarily rejected. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic credentials. Short-listed candidates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge through an on-site written test and interview, to be held in July 2016. Selections will be based on past academic performance, written examination and interview.
Application Fees : Candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable application fees of Rs. 1,200 (One Thousand Two Hundred Only) by credit/debit card or Demand Draft drawn in favor of Shiv Nadar University payable at NOIDA.
Fellowship : Rs. 420000 for max 48 months
