Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test - February, 2017 recruitment in Sikkim e-Education Infosys

Qualification : The candidate having the following minimum educational qualification are eligible for appearing in STET.

1. Minimum educational Qualification for becoming Primary Teacher for classes I-V (Primary Stage). Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC(State) and passed in final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education ( D. El. Ed). OR Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed in final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed). OR  Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed in final year of 2 years Diploma in Education ( Special Education).

2. Minimum qualification for becoming Graduate Teacher for classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage).  B.A./B.Sc./ with 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC (State)and passed in final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). OR B.A./B.Sc./ with 50 % marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central),OBC(State) and passed in final year of 1 /2 year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.).

Note : 1. A person who intends to appear in both the categories (Primary and Graduate) will have to apply and sit in both the papers separately. 2. For the purpose of this notification, a Diploma/Degree course in teacher education recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education ( Special Education) and B. Ed. ( Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

Pattern of Examination : TET will be of Objective type.(Multiple Choice question) There will be no negative marking. No. of MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) =150. All are compulsory. Duration of examination will be of 2:30 hrs.

Application Fee : Rs.400/- on account of exam fee may be deposited in favour of Joint Director/Exam, HRDD in any branch of IDBI Bank in the State(Account Number : 0108102000006767). Bank draft from any nationalised bank will be acceptable only, if unavoidable.
