Software Design Engineer Jobs in Delhi - CABI

Purpose of the role 

CABI is recruiting for SDET’s in a quest to modernize its software testing processes to improve product quality and mitigate any unintended impact on other products areas. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining new and existing automation frameworks, continued evaluations of test cases for inclusion in test regression, tests coverage and automation of newly implemented functionality, and development of tools to enable QA efficiencies. The SDET will also work closely with software developers, project managers and release engineers to form and follow quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring they are met and deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key accountabilities 

• Participate actively in all Scrum rituals to enhance domain knowledge and contribute design considerations from a quality, performance and security dimension
• Work with developers during the development phase as an advocate of continuous testing in order to plan and execute test cases in parallel instead of waiting till Sprint end
• Identify quality tasks suited for automation during the sprint cycle and implement automated testing for them
• Participate in performance (JMeter) and penetration (Burp Suite or similar) testing efforts
• Collaborate with release engineering team for successfully integrating all automated tests including those for performance and security with CI/CD pipelines
• Automate acceptance tests leveraging Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), preferably using SpecFlow or similar
• Participate in the review of QA processes to suggest recommendations for further efficiencies
• Champion continuous testing principle and best automation testing practices by trying new frameworks and technologies and recommend best fit
• Analyse and communicate test results and defect tracking
• Work on reducing regression and quicken releases even if that requires relying on manual testing occassionally

Knowledge & Skills

• Programming experience in C#/.NET Core highly preferred

• Experienced in mobile (iOS and Android) and web test automation

• Hands on experience with writing automation test code and utilizing leading industry standard tools

(Postman, Selenium, IDE’s, etc.) and frameworks

• Proficiency with automated testing types (TDD with xUnit or similar, BDD with SpecFlow)

• Knowledge on database and API testing

• Familiarity with Microsoft Test Manager

• Experience with CI/CD pipeline (Azure DevOps Server/Services a bonus)

• Familiarity with APM tools such as Datadog will be a plus

Experience

• At least 4 years of experience working as a software engineer using Microsoft technologies

• Currently working as a SDET/SET in a globally distributed team developing products using Agile (Scrum & Kanban) methodologies with emphasis on continuous delivery inspired by DevOps
