Software Developer (Android/Firmware) will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge connected-device products as per management’s specifications and customer requirements. The software engineer is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·         Ownership of system design and android firmware on hardware prototype projects and development platforms.

·         Support a cross-functional team (R&D, Engineering, Software and Marketing) to develop the firmware for cutting-edge consumer electronics hardware designs and bring them to market

·         Understand the full range of smart home-related products and services and present it to potential and existing clients.

·         Help conceive, prototype, validate and maintain software for multiple hardware product lines

·         Support product requirements, definition, design, optimization, validation and release processes

·         Ensure production procedures efficiently utilize materials, methods and personnel.

·         Draft diagnostic requirements for design verification and mass production and establish test procedures for quality assurance of the finished product.

·         Guide partnering teams to develop their integration solutions and middleware configurations based on requirements.

·         Work with external resources to resolve product issues.

·         Work with external design resources to ensure quality design and performance.

Qualifications

·         University Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Electronics or Communications Engineering).

·         Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in software development experience.

·         4+ years of experience in embedded firmware design

·         Experience with software architecture and design patterns

·         Experience with Android and/or Linux kernel development such as HAL and device drivers

·         Experience with software design and programming in C/C++ for development, debugging, and testing

·         Experience producing production quality, fail-safe firmware for low-power real-time system control

·         Must have good knowledge and experience in Automation, Fire Alarm, CCTV & Access Control Systems

·         Expertise in design, maintenance, and troubleshooting an enterprise-wide security environment

·         Ability to integrate devices or sub-systems into integrated, enterprise-wide systems

·         Strong knowledge of the industry and market trends

·         Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
