Job description :
We are looking for a Software Engineer - Backend Development with proficiency in Ruby on Rails. As a Software engineer, you'll work on the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. Your responsibility is to ensure system consistency and improve user experience.

Profile Summary :
You will be involved in all aspects of development playing a critical role in design, planning, development and deployment and help develop best practices for future development.
Code, develop, design and architect features related to the existing application. We expect you to own modules end to end and take pride in the work products you ship.
Deliver across the entire app life cycle, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
Hands-on experience on databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc
Familiarity with tools for code-reviews, version control (GIT)
A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
Experience in application servers hosting and monitoring
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
Experience with common AWS service EC2, RDS, S3, SES and concepts of load balancing/auto-scaling.
In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming (Expertise in Rails)
Understanding of agile software development
Required Candidate profile :
The Ideal "Noisemaker":
Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque
Experience in designing database schema with proper use of indexes, constraints, triggers, etc.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and should have good understanding of server-side templating languages
Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system. Third-Party Integrations via APIs
Ability to write clean, modularized, maintainable and well tested code
Knowledge of any JS framework (a plus), a huge plus if you know Vue.js/React.js/Angular/Node development experience.
Experience with e-commerce applications and business environments is a must.
Strong understanding of RDBMS (like MySQL), including database schema design and ability to write efficient SQL queries
Degree in Computer Science
Excellent verbal communication skills
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of wearable technology is preferred but not mandatory
Experience of at least 3 to 6 years
Previous startup experience is preferred
