Job Summary

The Lead Data Science Application Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design,implementation, configuration, management, and monitoring of the Dataiku analytic application.This role will provide direction to a team of Dataiku engineers and administrators to ensure the overall success of the application.
This role includes both strategic and tactical responsibilities,spanning activities such as implementation design decisions down to troubleshooting specific issues to identify root cause.Reports to: Sr. Manager, Applications Essential

Job Functions

• Responsible for the overall solution design of the Dataiku application, including documenting detailed implementation configurations

• Align with the systems engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required to expand existing environments to meet user needs

• Outline, plan, and coordinate minor and major releases for Dataiku environments

• Coordinate with security to ensure timely patching, and tracking of vulnerabilities

• Partner with the infrastructure, network, database, and business teams to ensure high availability of the application

• Coordinate and lead annual Disaster Recovery failover tests

• Perform analysis to support capacity planning and solution design decision

• Lead non-direct reports via collaboration and influencing in the successful management of the Dataiku application

• Find opportunities in the Dataiku environments to optimize processes, reduce vulnerabilities,reduce cost, and optimize the platform for enterprise use cases

• Manage user and group impersonation rules for multi user security

• Create, modify and manage Python code environments within the Dataiku application

• Manage and resolve support issues with a high degree of technical complexity

• Work with vendor and partner support teams on support tasks

• Improve efficiencies by documenting and standardizing support processes along with capturing or developing best practices

• Document knowledge in the form of incident notes, technical articles, and contributions to knowledge bases or forums within specific areas of expertise

• Manage and review application log files for issuesEducation/CertificationsBachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required.Work Experience

• At least 6+ years of experience in Information Technology and systems management

• At least 3+ years of supporting analytic applications

• Experience supporting Dataiku or other Data Science platforms is a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in Linux commands and administration

• Knowledge of Python coding constructs

• Experience in working with cloud solution providers, preferably Azure

• Single sign-on and Kerberos experience is a plus

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies

• A strong competency in technical problem solving

• Knowledge of database structures
