Lead Sheet Metal - Component Development & Materials Management
Location

Functional Roles:
- Vendor analysis & rationalization for capacity assessment, time frame agreement
- Draw up a plan to develop/procure components with vendors within time, cost and quality objectives
- Vendor analysis & rationalization for capacity assessment, time frame agreement
- To ensure the material and tooling cost are settled within the budgeted values
- To support pricing cell in cost estimation activities component wise & details costing of the components/new part
- Effective co-ordination with the Design team to ensure first time right & end delivery of product
- Variance analysis at each stage of development in terms of Quality, Cost & Delivery, and corrective action
- Developing & implementing innovative approaches in cost reduction
- Ensure that the respective Officers are delivering on the Time, Cost & Quality Targets
- To ensure development of right quality of parts to support desired production levels following APQP
- To ensure active involvement in project feasibility studies.
- To plan process at supplier’s end and to prepare PFC (Process Flow Chart), control plan, MSA & SPC
- To meet the Gateways as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development System) targets for projects.
- To ensure right fixtures, gauges & tooling’s are planned for the development
- To ensure first time right PPAP.
- To ensure 100% PIST (Percentage Inspection points Satisfying Tolerance and PIPC (Percent Indices Process Capable)
- Interface with the commodity teams to identify potential suppliers, get suppliers ratings, costs, and sourcing policy.
Functional Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes for Stamping and Welding parts.
- To have good knowledge on Die Design & Development, Welding & Assembly Fixture Development, Sheet Metal Raw Material.
Knowledge on PPAP, New Part Development System (MP, EP, VP, PP), APQP, SPC, GD&T, SAP, Taxation and Problem-solving techniques.
MS Office Knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
