Job Title:  Nurse/ Data Entry Operator

1. Nurse

Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM

Brief Description about the Project: The aim of this study is to determine the optimal level of protein needed to elicit positive changes in markers of growth and anemia status through changes in the metabolome and microbiome in stunted primary school aged children (6-10 years of age), after 1 month of feeding.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and planning nursing care requirements

  • Organizing sample collection, processing and storage

  • Maintaining log sheets

  • Recording pulse, temperature, blood pressure, etc.

  • Reporting to the coordinators on a daily basis

Key Skills:

  • Good communication skills (English & Kannada)

  • Team worker

  • Sample collection and processing

Specific Activities:

  • Travelling to study sites when required

  • Sample collection as per protocol

  • Preparing samples to be sent for testing and storage

  • Maintaining log sheets

  • Scheduling follow-up visits

Brief Description about the Project: This study is a collaboration between the University of California San Francisco and St. John’s Research Institute, funded by the US National Institute of Mental Health. This cluster RCT was designed to implement and evaluate an intervention to primary health centres on outcomes in patients dually diagnosed with mental illness and cardiovascular disease/diabetes in 50 Primary Health Clinics in rural Karnataka.

Specific Activities: He will be responsible for transporting the study team in the vehicle to various field sites regularly

Key Skills:

  • The driver will hold a valid driver’s license

  • Possess experience driving on the state highway

Core Responsibilities: Full time for the study vehicle

Salary: Rs. 11,000/- pm

5. Intervention Staff

Qualification: Master’s Degree in Social Work in Medical and Psychiatry or Master’s in Psychology

Brief Description about the Project: This study is a collaboration between the University of California San Francisco and St. John’s Research Institute, funded by the US National Institute of Mental Health. This cluster RCT was designed to implement and evaluate an intervention to primary health centres on outcomes in patients dually diagnosed with mental illness and cardiovascular disease/diabetes in 50 Primary Health Clinics in rural Karnataka.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Consenting and enrolling eligible study participants
  • Administering tracking form to study participants
  • Administering questionnaire to study participants
  • Scheduling follow-up visits
  • Mailing postcards to study participants reminding them of their involvement in the study, providing them with a follow-up date and re-issuing study contact information
  • Contacting and rescheduling participants who fail to present at their scheduled follow-up assessments
  • Ensuring accuracy of contact information during follow-up assessments; making necessary contact information changes in project database
  • Facilitating the group sessions

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of / interest in the conduct of behavioural health research
  • Demonstrated knowledge of / interest in rural health

Core Responsibilities: The intervention staff will be responsible for the outreach, tracking, interviewing and retention of study participants. They will serve as participant liaison to minimize loss to attrition of study participants. The incumbents will undergo extensive training in contact tracking and participant confidentiality as they pertain to the study protocol.

Salary: Rs. 15,100/- pm

6. Data Entry Operator

Qualification: Graduate

Specific Responsibilities will included:

  • Data entry of all de-identified laboratory and questionnaire data
  • Assist the data manager in maintaining an up-to-date database
  • Printing material (questionnaires, logs, etc.) that needs to be taken to the field and procurement of lab supplies from stores
  • Calculating assessment scores and passing it to the field coordinators and field staff
  • Following data entry filing of questionnaires in the designated cabinets
