Stenographer Grade I/PS Job Vacancy in High Court of Manipur
Stenographer Grade I/PS

Qualification : a) The candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized University. b) The candidate must have completed Diploma in Stenography in English with Minimum speed of 120 words per minute in short hand and typing speed of 50 words per minute on computer.
Pay Scale : Rs.12000-40000
Stenographer Grade –II

Qualification : a) The candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized University. b) The candidate must have completed Diploma in Stenography in English with Minimum speed of 100 words per minute in short hand and typing speed of 40 words per minute on computer.
Pay Scale : Rs.8000-35000
Age : 18-43 yrs
Nature of Examination: (i) Preliminary Examination: (a) Written examination to test English for 50 marks with 1:30 hours duration consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). (b) Computer Typing Test: Minimum Speed of 50 wpm on computer for the post of Stenographer Grade-I and 40 wpm for the post of Stenographer Grade-II. (c) Stenography Test: Minimum 60 wpm in short hand for Stenographer Grade - UPS Minimum 50 wpm in short hand for Stenographer Grade - II
(ii) Mains: Candidates selected from the Preliminary Examination will undergo Stenography Skill Tests for 75 marks.
(iii) Oral Interview: Oral Interview for 25 Marks will be conducted for the candidates who got through the Main Examination.

High Courts for States : There shall be a High Court for each State. On re-organization of the North-Eastern region by the North Eastern Area (Re-organization) Act, 1971, a common High Court was established for the five North-Eastern States namely; Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura and the two Union Territories namely Union Territory of Mizoram and the Union Territory of Arunachal Pradesh and called as the Gauhati High Court. Thereafter, when Manipur attained Statehood, Imphal Bench of the Gauhati High Court came into existence on Friday, the 21st day of January 1972. In exercise of the power conferred by Sub-section (2) of Section 31 of the North Eastern Areas (Re-organisation) Act, 1971, His Excellency, the President of India was pleased to establish the Permanent Bench of the Gauhati High Court at Imphal, vide Gauhati High Court (Establishment of Permanent Bench at Imphal) order dated 21st January, 1992.
