Tester/Asst. Tester recruitment in Tamil Nadu PSC
Tester (Post Code. 1905) /4 BC-1 GT (W)-1 SC-I MBC/DC (W)-1
Qualification: A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering of any recognized Institution or Board* and Practical experience for a period of one year in the field of Electrical Testing in the case of degree holders and three years in the case of diploma holders in a recognized concern**.
Pay Scale: Rs.9,300-34,800/- (PB2) + 5,100/- Grade Pay
Asst. Tester (Post Code. 1908)/ 2 (MBC/DC-1 BC-1)
Qualification: A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering of any recognized Institution or Board* and Practical experience for a period of six months in the field of electrical Testing in the case of degree holders and one and half years in the case of diploma holders in the recognized concern**.
Pay Scale: Rs.9,300-34,800/- (PB2) + 4,400/- Grade Pay
Note: Other things being equal, preference shall be given to persons who have completed one year of apprenticeship under the Government of India scheme or one year of Training under the State Government Apprenticeship Scheme. Note: (I) The Degree qualification prescribed should have been obtained after passing the SSLC and HSC/Diploma or its equivalent (II) The Diploma qualification prescribed should have been obtained after passing the SSLC.
Knowledge of Tamil: Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil on the date of this Notification viz. 19.02. 2016.
Centre of Examination: Examination will be held at Chennai Centre (Code No.0100) only.
Mode of Payment of Examination Fee: fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) Candidates have to register their basic particulars through One-Time Registration which is mandatory on payment of Rs.50/- towards registration fee. The registration shall be valid for a period of five years from the date of one-time registration. Candidates should also to pay the service charges applicable to the Bank (State Bank of India / Indian Bank).
Procedure of Selection: Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the form of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.

The Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of being the only province in India to establish the first Service Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members, including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year 1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
