Industry Technical Consultant

FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing technical support to customers in cooperation with the Nalco sales-force. Provides expert advice and assistance to internal staff and to customers in specific area of expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provides on-site technical support for Nalco’s existing and prospective customers in cooperation with the sales force. Maintains ongoing communications with sales force to maintain knowledge of customer needs. Analyzes complex customer processes and problems, supports sales efforts, and recommends ways to improve customer operations.

Supports Nalco’s Knowledge Management System by creating technical content in document libraries and technical forums for area of expertise on an ongoing basis. Contributes to and is responsible for the content of technical forums in area(s) of expertise. Reviews and updates technical information for service manuals and knowledge library.

Responds to more complex technical inquiries from sales force and other internal departments. Acts as technical advisor to marketing and research.

Will work on strategy to position new technology or applications of NALCO at the customer through our Sales function.

Conducts, organizes, and/or participates in customer seminars and training programs. Assists marketing and research staffs with new product and program deployment and development needs, requirements, and direction.

Develops and maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in specific processes and applications and establishes worldwide reputation for excellence in areas of expertise. Assumes leadership role in trade associations and professional organizations to enhance Nalco’s reputation. Develops and delivers technical presentations and publications at strategic global conferences on subjects related to areas of expertise.

Assists in creating value identification tools to identify value provided by Nalco programs. Provides feedback on the performance of Nalco programs.
