Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) invites application for the position Technical Officer
Project entitled 'Advancing tobacco control at national and sub-national level in India through Capacity building, MPOWER implementation, and support to National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP)'
Post Name : Technical Officer
Project Objective: The objective of the current project is to strengthen the policy and institutional framework of National Tobacco Control Program in four states of India namely Odisha, Telangana, Meghalaya, and Puducherry through the Capacity-building, MPOWER implementation and monitoring, enactment of FCTC Article 5.3 policy and provide support to National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP); effective implementation of tobacco control policies under tobacco control legislation named Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).
Education qualifications and skill requirements/l)desired experience: Ph.D. with minimum 4 year of relevant work experience. MPH/MSW with minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
Remuneration: Remuneration for respective positions is INR. 60000/- to 65,000/- CTC based on previous experiences and last drawn salary (depends upon candidate's experience and capabilities). With an additional reimbursement towards mobile allowances.
Knowledge and Skills:
a) Proficient in laisioning and coordination with diverse Stakeholders
b) Research expertise in framing research proposals and applying the quantitative and qualitative methodology to document the outcomes along with manuscript writing skills.
c) Capable of carrying out a review of literature and writing reports.
d) Capable of monitoring and supervision.
e) Good command over MS Office/ Internet including basic IT skills.
Duties :
1. To assist in conducting operational research aligned with project objectives and activities. To develop research protocols out of the activities under the project and oversee activities related to required ethical approvals
2. Write and edit new content (articles, blogs, case studies) for the Resource Centre for Tobacco Control (RCTC) on the of existing peer reviewed literature & opinion of subject Also, provide integrated communication plan for increasing visibility of web portal and dissemination to various stakeholders. Also ensure proper implementation of plans related to RCTC.
3. Conduct, coordinate, and liaison with for online courses (Basic Course on Tobacco Control and Advanced Course on Tobacco Control).
4. To conduct a review of global policies and approaches towards Tobacco endgame. Also, develop and collate material for online resource hub to facilitate endgame movement across states of India
5. To assist in workshops, webinars and consultations being held under the project.
6. To supervise the staff under the project related to conduction of above-said activities.
7. To identify opportunities for initiation of new projects.
8. To provide weekly progress update to the Pl.
9. To undertake any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Project director.
