Title : Development of National Digital Library of India Knowledge Portal as a National Assest(KNA)

Qualification : BE/B. Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology or MCA or M. Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent in related field. ME/M. Tech/MS preferred. Excellent analytical capability, problem solving ability and communication skill. 3 years’ hands-on experience in software development or ME/M. Tech/MS with 2 years’ hands-on experience in state-of-the-art digital library applications development Must have skills in several of the followings: o Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in software development using C/C++, Java, SQL and Web Development using PHP o Comprehensive understanding of developing and maintaining large database oriented application systems o Good understanding/exposure to anyone or more of the following areas: o Database Application development o Web Application development o App development for Android or i-OS or Windows o Modern information retrieval technologies o Knowledge engineering based application development o Large volume and unstructured data curation o Familiar with modern software engineering practices such as agile methodology, modeling, quality assurance (QA) and test/QA set up o Leading from front a small team of software developers Responsibilities for the position are anyone or more of the followings: o Hands-on leading/guiding a team of junior developers or data curators involved digital library applications development or large volume and unstructured data curation o Quality assurance (QA) and test/QA set up for software applications or data o Architecting digital library applications o Applying state-of-the-art information retrieval and knowledge engineering to make project deliverables Posting: Kolkata or Kharagpur Other Benefit: o House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Central Government norm if posted at Kolkata. Accommodation provided if posted at Kharagpur. o Upon joining, after 6 months, may be eligible to register for MS/PhD in IIT Kharagpur, subject to fulfillment of the requirements for MS/PhD admission set by respective Departments of IIT Kharagpur.
