Malaria Research (NIMR) on a purely temporary and contractual basis
Technical Officer/No.of Post: 1 (UR)
Project entitled: ‘Pilot scale bio-ecological studies on Aedes aegypti population in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu towards developing an alternate Dengue/Chikungunya control strategy’
Qualification: Graduate in Science /Microbiology /Medical Microbiology from a recognized university with five years work experience from a recognized institution . OR Master’s degree in Virology /Molecular Virology / Microbiology .
Desirable qualification and Experience : Working experience in field collection of mosquito immature, sampling techniques, rearing of mosquitoes, adult collection of mosquitoes, insecticide susceptibility tests, screening and detection of virus in mosquito specimens.
Knowledge of Computer applications. Data recording and management, data analysis, SPSS, GPS plotting.
Age: 30 years (relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates)
Emoluments: Rs. 32,000/-per month
2. Technician C/2 posts (UR-1, OBC-1)
Essential Qualification 12th pass in Science subjects and two years diploma
(DMLT) (OR)12th pass in Science subjects with one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization or two years relevant field/laboratory experience* in Govt. recognized organization
(*B.Sc. degree in Biological Science shall be treated as 3 years experience)
Desirable qualification and Experience : Working experience in field data collection/laboratory experiments on vector mosquitoes.Knowledge of Computer applications,Can read, write and speak in English and Tamil .
Emoluments:Rs. 18,000/-per month

Essential Qualification : 10th Pass* or equivalent with five years experience in related field (field/laboratory work) from a Government institution or recognized institute
(*12th pass with science subjects and B.Sc. shall be treated as equivalent to 2 and 3 years experience respectively)
Desirable qualification and Experience : Working experience in field/laboratory work. Knowledge of Computer applications,Can read, write and speak in Tamil
Emoluments: Rs. 17,000/-per month
