Introduction
As a Technical Operations Analyst , you are part of TBO service line of Infrastructure Services Business of IBM. You are responsible to support Analytic platform for Telecom clients. You demonstrate the domain expertise by providing L2 level to manage Cognos platform. You will also be part of marigold scope, Cognos application is being upgraded /merged and transformed for the client.


Your Role and Responsibilities

• Perform Cognos security and administration for all internal and external users including installation, creation / modification of Cognos roles, AD groups, and user interface portals.
• Handle the implementation, testing, and documentation of new and updated Cognos reporting packages to be moved into production environment per request by project.
• Cognos Installation and configuration and also manage Cognos Version Migration/Upgrade
• Implement patches and other day-to-day Cognos administration tasks including creating folders/ reports/ users and migrating reports/folders/users from Dev to QA to Production
• Support all Cognos configuration requirements for new clients and client database migrations including working with DBAs to set up and test new Oracle data sources used by Cognos, creating new Cognos security roles, and setting up new user security and reporting interfaces for users
• Assist clients with demos and problem reports
• Contribute and manage the coordination and planning of Cognos/ Database/ Infrastructure -related activities/ outages
• Support developers by solving reporting issues related to Cognos configurations and/or SQL
• Manage the development and implementation of Cognos Transformer auto cube builds and monthly reporting for external and internal clients
• Participate in and contribute to the implementation of the best industry practices for Cognos

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 4 – 8 years of IT industry experience with minimum 3 years of experience in Cognos Platform
• Experience in Framework models and packages using IBM Cognos 10.X including DMR Models Reports using Report Studio, Query Studio and Event Studio
• Produce and manage dashboards and apply data visualization standard methodologies
• Expertise in Cognos Workspace and Active reports along with Cognos transformer and Cognos Dynamic Cubes
• Proven expertise in SQL and in-depth understanding of the Cognos Architecture and underlying reporting studios

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficient in core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technologies and Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience
• Unix/Shell Scripting will be a plus
• You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies
• Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
• Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
• Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
