Job Description
TERI seeks to hire suitable candidate for CIAM who would contribute towards the modeling activities of the team. The position will involve a wide variety of activities ranging from data collection and analysis to scenario development and modeling. The successful candidate will be providing inputs that lead to generation of alternative development pathways for India through a variety of large-scale models including energy system models. This position offers the candidates an opportunity to work in a competitive, rigorous, fast-paced and interdisciplinary environment as well as to interact with other players such as industrial stakeholders, academicians and policymakers thereby allowing them to explore their niche and establish themselves in this field.
1. Name of the Post: Associate Fellow
2. Experience: 4 - 5 years
3. Qualification:
a) Strong academic record with master-s (or above) in Economics/ Statistics/ Energy/ Environmental Economics/Social Sciences, or any other relevant field with up to 5 years of related experience
b) Proficiency in quantitative and statistical analysis
c) Inclination towards conducting both qualitative and quantitative research
d) Ability to handle, analyse and synthesise large datasets
e) Good communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
f) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and delivering quality outputs
g) Demonstrated ability of working independently as well as in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team with limited supervision
h) Understanding of India-s energy sector and policies especially power sector is desired
i) Willingness to learn new research and project management skills
j) Experience with risk and impact assessment is preferred
k) Experience with coding languages or analytical software such as R, Python, GAMS or Stata is preferred
l) Prior knowledge or experience of energy and resource economics, quantitative modeling, and scenario designing is preferred
