Job Description
- Training of government and project staff on Cold Chain and Vaccine Logistics Management.
- Assisting the State Capacity Building Lead in the development of training plans and their implementation;
- Assisting in the review and design of training modules, and their field testing before actual use. Also assisting the State Cold Chain lead in the development of training schedules;
- Helping in the maintenance of a database of trainers and other resource persons;
- Assisting in organizing Training of Trainer (TOT) workshops, sensitization workshops, two-day technical training at the state and district levels, as well as refresher training, at regular intervals;
- Undertaking field visits for the conduct of training for approx. 16 days every month;
- Supporting the Administrative Officer in making arrangements for training venues, training kits, meals, disbursement of TA/DA/HA claims of participants, etc.;
- Preparation of draft reports in respect of each training conducted;
- Conducting workshop evaluation and assessing the efficacy of training methodologies;
- Performing any other tasks related to planning and/or implementation of capacity building.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate people to take action.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural team;
- Sound knowledge of health systems at the national and state levels;
- Effective analytical, negotiating and communication skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, both in English and Hindi are essential. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station will be an asset;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.

Following the successful piloting of the first phase of the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) Project in three states (UP, MP and Rajasthan), Ernst & Young (EY) has been mandated by UNDP to scale-up and extend eVIN systems to all districts in nine additional states, (viz Assam, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Bihar, Manipur and Nagaland) as a part of Phase 2 of the project. eVIN is an exciting, ‘breakthrough’ initiative that is expected to improve the availability of quality vaccines to the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), at the state and district levels.
EY has awarded SAMS an assignment for Manpower Deployment and Management, for the training of Government Staff working on Cold-Chain and Vaccine Logistics for UIP, at the state and district levels in the above states. This large training initiative is being undertaken with a view to helping State Health Officers adopt innovative changes to the cold chain logistics of vaccines.
