Job Description

Job Summary:

To manage translation projects and to ensure the effective delivery of our translation, proofreading and all other deliverables
To assist the Head of Project Management and General Manager in assuring customer satisfaction
To stay in regular contact with clients to ensure potential business opportunities are maximised

Main Duties And Responsibilities:

Project management
To manage all stages of translation projects, monitoring workflow, ensuring the highest level of performance in terms of efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction
To follow up on quotes to maximise potential business and track reasons for refused quotes
To obtain accurate word counts and prepare estimates and quotes for clients
To book freelance translators, selecting the most suitable translator for each project and negotiating the best rates
To communicate clear and specific instructions to translators and keep them accountable for quality and punctual delivery
To deliver translations in accordance with agreed deadlines and in the appropriate format
To prepare files, projects and packages for translation and to create and manage memories using CAT tools (preferably SDL Trados Studio 2014 or above)
To prioritise tasks whilst handling multiple projects simultaneously
To ensure database entries on translators and clients are up-to-date and accurate
To contribute to the overall day to day smooth running of the company. With other colleagues to cover for the Head of Project Management and the General Manager in his/her absence
To prepare reports for the Head of Project Management
To follow up on projects to ensure customer service levels and satisfaction are maintained
Finance
To adhere to our quoting policy
To finalise projects and prepare them for invoicing
To ensure translator purchase orders are issued in line with company procedure to ensure fair and correct payment for services rendered
To check client invoices to ensure they are compliant with what was quoted
To manage timings and costs on each project in accordance with company profit margins and client expectations
To meet the needs of the service you may be required, on a temporary basis, to perform other duties within your capacity, commensurate with your competence, professional qualifications and general level of responsibility within the organisation.
