Product Designer
Job Description
Our Product Designers straddle the realms of user experience, technology and systems thinking effortlessly. They’re responsible for conceptualizing new ways of improving our engagement with our various internal and external users through a rigorous application of the design process; from research and ideation to prototyping and validation. They interface seamlessly with product managers, data scientists and technologists, to collectively drive the creation of new and intuitive experiences.
Roles and responsibilities
- Design, plan and execute qualitative user research, to generate actionable insights
- Design the user experience for our digital products, including the creation of process artefacts like Personas, User Journeys, Information Architecture, Interaction patterns, task-flows, sketches, wireframes, etc.
- Conduct design experiments and validation exercises like talk along tests, focus group discussions, A/B testing, usability testing etc. to effectively measure and learn from the outcomes of the design process.
- Collaborate with and lead multi-functional teams through ideation and brainstorming exercises. Familiarity with Design Sprints or other standard UX workshops is a plus.
- Interface with key functions like data-science, analytics, product management and development to assimilate insights from their disciplines into decision making.
- Make internal presentations to stakeholders and BUs about their design interventions to get their buy-ins and feedback.
- Provide guidance, feedback and constructive criticism to other designers
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2-5yrs of Experience in designing digital products
- B.Des/M.Des from IDC, NID, IITs or other design schools of national repute
- Fluency with design and prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Invision, XD, etc.
- Understanding of digital experience principles and methodologies including heuristics, affordances, atomic design systems, laws of UX etc. We must know the rules before we bend/break them
- Understanding of qualitative research methodologies like semi-structured interviews, user diaries, ethnographic studies and standard frameworks like affinity diagrams, user journey maps, service blueprints etc.
- Understanding of implementation and measurement challenges across mobile (iOS and Android), web and hybrid solutions. Familiarity with usability testing, A/B testing, and analytics based feedback.
UI Designer
Job Description
Our user interface designers are masters of the craft of design execution. They can obsess over pixel perfect design specifications and the technological feasibility of executing them, in equal parts. They’re experts in manipulating user focus and attention with an unwavering commitment to an aesthetically pleasing and intuitive experience. They are responsible for bringing to life the various crazy ideas we might come up with, and deploying them across a multitude of digital channels effectively.
Roles and responsibilities
- Design cutting edge interfaces across native and responsive solutions.
- Establish best practices in interface design covering the implementation of typography, layouts, UI components, interaction patterns, motion-design, etc. Contribute to our company-wide design systems.
- Create visual assets like illustrations, icons, style guides and templates, color palettes etc.
- Convert rudimentary design ideas into high fidelity design specifications for the front end development teams. Work closely with them to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of the designs.
- Participate in the product design process, and provide their creative inputs, feedback and constructive criticism to their teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 1-3 yrs of Experience in visual design for digital products
- A graduate/postgraduate degree in graphic design, applied/fine arts,
- Fluency with design tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Invision, Zeplin, XD. Knowledge of After Effects/Principle or other motion design tools is preferable.
- Understanding of principles of visual design and composition, gestalt’s laws, color theory, laws of UX, etc.
- Knowledge of contemporary design frameworks like material design, and ongoing visual design trends
- Understanding of implementation challenges across mobile (iOS and Android), web and hybrid solutions. Working knowledge of responsive grids.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is preferred but not essential
- Keen interest in the UX Design processes and methodologies
