About First Pilgrim
We started our outdoor journey 2 years back by exploring hiking routes in Himalaya. Love towards mountains and nature drives us to help people get outside and explore outdoor without fear. We are building a product with the dream to showcase millions of routes all across the globe and trails nearby. Hiking community has various options available in the market but we found serious problems with the products as they are not customer-centric and user-friendly. Our approach started with understanding the issues of the hiking community and then build the product which is easy to use and solves all the issues of explorers.
We believe in contributing to the community and nature. All our routes and trail information is generated by our users who want to help and share their trail knowledge with other community members. We are looking for talented & young people in our core team who are passionate about hiking, travelling, nature & skills they are good at. Join us!
About the work from home job/internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Maintain and enhance existing applications in web and mobile platforms
2. Design SQL queries, data structures, and algorithms
3. Writie codes using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3, bootstrap, materialize and other front-end frameworks
4. Work on API integration with a MySQL and Linux/Ubuntu environment
5. Work on CodeIgniter framework, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS3
6. Work on front and back end development
7. Work on the development and integration of APIs
Required Skills:
1. Pursuing or should have completed a Bachelors degree in Technology/Computer Science
2. At least a year of experience in writing codes in PHP (will be an added advantage)
3. Ability to learn and use the PHP CodeIgniter framework
4. Willingness to learn new programming languages
5. A grip on any flavor of Linux/Ubuntu based OS preferable - Amazon AWS is preferable
6. Strong knowledge of PHP and web
7. Basic understanding of Photoshop for HTML conversions
