Wildlife Institute of India (WII) invites application for the position Senior Project Associate

Project “Preparation of Integrated Wildlife Action Plan comprising of mitigation and compensating measures with landscape approach of entire forest area in Hazaribagh Wildlife Forest Division, Hazaribagh West Forest Division and Koderma Forest Division in the impact zone of the Koderma Detour of DFCCIL project”

1. Position: Senior Project Associate (Ecology)

No of posts: 01

Educational qualifications: Master’s degree in Wildlife Science/ Ecology/Biodiversity Conservation/ Forestry/ Environmental Sciences or related subjects with 4 years’ experience in relevant field.

Desirable: Previous experience of wildlife research/ biodiversity assessment and survey. Proven record of writing technical/research report, publishing scientific article in peer-reviewed journal

Work Description: The work involves assessment of biodiversity in study area in Jharkhand and preparation of Integrated Wildlife Management Plan. The selected candidate will implement the objectives of the project by carrying out field research and prepare interim and final report


1. Position: Senior Project Associate (GIS)

No of posts: 01

Educational qualifications Essential: Masters Degree in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geo informatics/ Wildlife Sciences/ Environmental Sciences or related subjects with 4 years’ experience in relevant field.

Desirable: Have PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics. Prior experience of working in developmental projects especially in elephant landscapes.

Work Description: The GIS specialist will be responsible for all geo-spatial analyses and assessment; database creation and maintenance of several thematic layers related to the project. Also the selected candidate will implement the objectives of the project by carrying out field research and prepare interim and final report.
