Job Description
1. Name of the Post: Senior Project Officer – Communities
2. Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
a) M.A. or M.Sc. in Social Science or related subject from a reputed University in India or abroad
b) At least 5 years of experience in conservation focused on community projects and initiatives.
c) Experience on social issues in a conservation landscape.
3. Location: Balaghat (MP)
4. Job Profile:
a) Work with local communities involved in community-based biodiversity conservation through Central India to enhance incomes and improve livelihood opportunities and provide leadership for the rollout and effective implementation of the Community based conservation model in the project.
b) Design and implement demand-driven Village Conservation and Development Plans (VCDPs) using Participatory approaches.
c) Feasibility of the proposed community-based conservation and additional livelihood interventions for the local community.
d) Prepare the Business Development Plan (BDP) for Community Institution members.
e) Develop studies and mitigation measures to prevent or reduce human-wildlife conflict in terms of crop-raiding.
f) Work closely with all team members to design and undertake studies/ analysis/ documentation towards analysing the impact (especially in quantitative terms) of WWF India’s work in CIL mainly with communities.
g) Coordinate with all stakeholders.
h) Collate data, analyse and compile reports for publication or communication.
i) Contributes and supports to the development of project’s work plan, implementation plan & budget with insights from the field.
