Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a goal-oriented, strategic, and dynamic Academic Business Developer to join our growing educational organization. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing academic business opportunities, establishing relationships with schools, colleges, training centers, or other educational institutions, and helping to expand the organization’s reach in the education sector.
This role combines business development, academic networking, partnership building, and market analysis. The ideal candidate must have a passion for education and innovation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to connect academic offerings with institutional or student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development and Market Expansion

Identify potential academic clients including schools, colleges, universities, edtech platforms, coaching institutes, and corporate learning departments.

Research and analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging educational needs.

Build a qualified pipeline of prospective leads and initiate contact through calls, emails, visits, and presentations.

Pitch educational programs, training modules, software solutions, or academic partnerships to potential clients.
2. Institutional Partnership Building

Develop partnerships with educational institutions for academic collaborations, course integration, faculty training, student workshops, or resource sharing.

Negotiate and close deals for academic products or services such as LMS solutions, skill development programs, certification courses, and publishing materials.

Draft and manage Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), proposals, and service-level agreements (SLAs) in collaboration with legal and academic teams.

Ensure successful onboarding and relationship management of new academic partners.
3. Client Relationship Management

Maintain regular communication with institutional stakeholders, academic heads, deans, or decision-makers.

Ensure a high level of satisfaction among academic partners and resolve any queries or concerns in a timely manner.

Act as the key point of contact for institutional clients regarding service delivery, feedback, and renewals.
4. Sales and Revenue Targets

Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue goals through institutional sales or academic partnerships.

Track sales metrics, conversion ratios, and lead follow-up effectiveness using CRM tools.

Provide accurate sales forecasting and reporting to the senior management team.
5. Academic Program Promotion

Collaborate with the marketing team to design targeted campaigns for academic clients.

Conduct webinars, information sessions, academic seminars, and orientation programs to promote course offerings.

Represent the company at education expos, seminars, networking events, and school/college visits.
6. Product and Service Knowledge

Develop in-depth understanding of the organization’s academic services, courses, certifications, and technologies.

Provide feedback to the product development team based on market needs and academic partner suggestions.

Stay updated with the latest developments in the education sector, NEP 2020 reforms, edtech trends, and digital learning innovations.
