Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with working knowledge of Tally, GST, e-Invoicing, E-Way Bill, MS Office, and statutory compliance procedures including PF, PT, and ESIC. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, banking activities, record-keeping, and assist in internal and external audits.
The position is ideal for a candidate who has practical experience with business accounting software, understands GST laws, and can manage petty cash and financial documentation efficiently. The role involves working closely with the senior finance team and requires both technical skills and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Day-to-Day Accounting
-
Record and maintain all daily financial transactions in Tally ERP / Tally Prime.

Post journal entries, manage ledgers, and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.

Maintain records of purchases, sales, payments, receipts, and credit/debit notes.
2. GST and E-Invoicing
-
Generate and validate GST-compliant e-invoices for B2B and B2C transactions.

Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) accurately and on time.

Assist in Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies.

Ensure correct application of GST rates on all transactions as per applicable laws.
3. E-Way Bill Generation

Create E-Way Bills for transport of goods as per GST requirements.

Ensure correct data entry and documentation for interstate and intrastate shipments.
-
Maintain E-Way bill logs for audit and compliance purposes.
4. Bank and Cash Management
-
Manage daily bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
-
Reconcile bank statements with company books regularly.
-
Handle petty cash disbursement, documentation, and periodic reporting.
-
Ensure sufficient cash flow for day-to-day operations and escalate shortages.
5. Payroll and Statutory Compliance
-
Assist in the preparation and processing of employee salaries using accounting software or spreadsheets.

Handle statutory filings such as:

PF (Provident Fund)
-
PT (Professional Tax)
-
ESIC (Employees' State Insurance Corporation)
-

Ensure timely deductions and deposit of contributions to government portals.

Maintain employee-wise records of deductions and compliance payments.
6. Audit Support
-
Assist internal and external auditors during financial and statutory audits.
-
Ensure all books, vouchers, invoices, and financial records are maintained and organized for review.

Implement suggestions or corrections post-audit.
7. Reporting & Documentation
-
Prepare basic financial reports, MIS, and summaries as required by management.

Maintain vendor/supplier ledgers and reconcile balances regularly.

Keep records of bills payable, receivables, and follow up on pending invoices.
8. Software & Office Tools
-
Use Tally ERP / Prime for all accounting entries and reports.
-
Use MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry, calculations, report generation, and communication.

Update and maintain digital and paper accounting records in a systematic manner.
Required Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.

Certification in Tally ERP / GST filing is preferred.
Experience:
-
Prefer experience in accounting and finance.
-
Freshers with strong working knowledge of Tally and GST can also apply.
Key Skills and Competencies
-
Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime
-
Working knowledge of GST laws, e-invoicing, and e-way bill portal
-
Strong MS Excel skills – formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.

Attention to detail and accuracy in accounting entries
-
Good understanding of double-entry accounting and bookkeeping
-
Strong communication and coordination skills
-
Ability to handle confidential financial data responsibly

Time management and ability to work under deadlines
